From Lesbian Pulp to Queer Pride: Closeted Desires to Community Conversations
Drawing from the Lesbian Pulp Fiction Collection at Mount Saint Vincent University, Denyse Rodrigues and Terrah Keener will discuss the fascinating literary phenomenon of lesbian pulp fiction with selected readings. Following the talk, queer elders will be present to mingle with attendees and share personal stories of being queer across different decades in a human library format. Instead of borrowing books, you'll meet incredible people from our 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomer communities - each with a story to share, a chapter to open, and a perspective to offer. This event is hosted in partnership with the YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs, Queer Arabs Halifax, and the Halifax Central Library.
